                                                              Hopwood Celebrates


                                                               The finale of the salesman of the year dinner, saw
                                                               no less than five men celebrating a year of hard
                                                               effort when they received their awards for sales-
                                                               persons of the year.

                                                               Following the amalgamation of the Ferodo, Duron, AE, Payen,
                                                               Champion and Wagner brands under one roof at the Bradford
                                                               LDC, awards were presented under three categories: CV – which
                                                               went to Duncan Watson, Engine – which went to Merveyn Hopton
                                                               and Car (because of the size of the Car team, there were also two
                                                               runners-up prizes), with Ken Jephcott and Barry Chapman in
                                                               third and second, runners-up to Steve Hopwood.
                                                                  Steve Hopwood collected the magnificent sales sword as
                                                               the overall winner.
                                                                  The final figures showed that overall sales were 99% of
                                                               target against the December forecast – an excellent result in
                                                               what is a very tough marketplace.

            The Champion Engine Builders’ Pavilion played
        host to Michael Spencer, winner of the Champion
        British Kart Driver Rankings for 1999. Just 17,
        Michael will compete in the British, European and
        World championships in 2000 before moving into
        Formula Ford.

            Meanwhile, on the Ferodo stand, one of the biggest
        names in brakes was announcing its continuing
        relationship with one of the world’s most successful
        independent touring car teams, Team Dynamics. The
        team will provide a test bed for Ferodo DS3000 plus
        pads throughout the 2000 season and will have
        exclusive first trial of any new relevant product coming
        out of the company’s motorsport development
        programme.
