Abraham Building

Sir Edward Abraham opened the Abraham

Building formally on 8th June 1995. Speeches

were given by Sir Bryan Cartledge, Principal,

and Baron Jenkins of Hillhead, then Chancellor

of Oxford University.

This aerial shot shows the Abraham Building on

the le and the Bamborough Building at the

top. The concrete Psychology Building across

the road has been cropped off.

The student rooms and student kitchens were The first students enjoyed the wonderful design

amongst the best in Oxford. and facili es, as well as living in a building with

award‐winning green creden als. In the

basement there is a fully equipped gym.

From a large hole in the ground, the Abraham

Building grew into an award‐winning building,

visited by Prince Charles in March 1996.

Paul Slack introduced Prince Charles to Sir

Edward and Lady Abraham, whose generosity

made the building possible.

Two Japanese Rooms were sponsored by a

group of supporters from Japan.
